  The Green Lake. This freshwater lake is green due to green algae - unfortunately it doesnt sound so magical as the other possible answers -'because of the semi-precious olivine found in lava rock' or 'Mr. and Mrs. Green used to fish there for shrimp'. (Its a bit like the 'Green Cave' in the North of the Island - is it so named because of the green moss that grows around the entrance, or because of the olivine sparkling in the walls of the cave or did Mr. and Mrs. Green used to shelter their livestock in there !! Visit it to find out.) Anyway, El Lago Verde is worth a look when combined with a visit to El Golfo (have a fish lunch then take a short walk along the lava cliffs footpath at the far end of the village to see the giant waves crashing - go at high tide and on a windy day - amazing!!).

  Worth a look if you are in the area as much for the dramatic coastline as for the lagoon. I wouldn't make a special trip though.

  We were warned not to go on the beach with the lake or in the sea there also due to the very strong under currents in the ocean.

  Beautiful and surreal lake, just beside the ocean. You don't get too close and its quiet touristic but nice nevertheless

  Worth a look if you are driving around in the area. It'll only take you 10 mins.

  A bit of a crowded shuffle along the cliff with every one else to see, from a distance, a green lake and a chance to buy more trinkets from local sellers in the dusty car park.
